Student life
Why did you choose to study in this field?
I am an executive coach and leadership corporate trainer and I have always wanted to strengthen my understanding of the brain so I can help my clients at a deeper and more sustainable level.
For me, it’s important to sustain habit, behaviour at a long-lasting level. Therefore I have studied the Advanced Diploma of Neoroleadership for 18 months. I also studied the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education to be able to lecture at universities. I also wanted to study carbon management so that I have a holistic understanding of our human impact. I included this in my training to corporates as we follow a few United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Why did you decide to study in NSW?
I lived in Sydney for 12 years and then moved to Bellingen near Coffs Harbour for another 12 years where I lectured at Southern Cross University (SCU). I took the opportunities to study further there as I was also commuting for work in Sydney. I had the great privilege to live in a pristine area, near the rainforest, and enjoy my work and lifestyle. Very grateful to be able to study further in NSW as my two Masters from France were not recognised in Australia.
Tell us about your experience studying in NSW
It was very relaxed compared to my previous studies in France and the USA. Teachers and facilitators were very friendly, which is part of the Australian culture. Lecturers were supportive and I truly enjoyed my studies. Most of my studies were offline and only the Advanced Diploma in Neuroleadership was online as I was studying from Vietnam.
Did you work or undertake projects with employers or industry groups during your studies? If yes, how did this experience benefit your career?
I was lecturing at (SC) when I was doing my Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (GCHE). Now I am the CEO of EQuest Asia where I am studying the Advanced Diploma of Neuroleadership. This has definitely helped with my career and credibility as an expert in the field of leadership with Executives.

What are you doing now in your career?
I am the founder and CEO of EQuest Asia which is a consultancy company. We work from Vietnam since the Covid outbreak. We focus on leadership development though training and executive coaching and specialise in Mindset shift, Gender equality (we work with UN Women, ILO, USaid), Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety so a workplace can become more inclusive and support a positive workplace culture.
Why did you decide to follow your chosen career path?
I focus on sustainable happiness and want to be part of an enlightenment sparkle for the 5,500 people I have trained offline.
Can you share any career advice for current students or graduates?
Study, study and more study. I am 55 years old, and I am still studying. I intend to do a third Masters or a PhD before I retire. I encourage my staff to study and this is part of our workplace culture. Stay curious and challenge yourself!
Do you remain involved in NSW?
Absolutely. We are following very closely what is happening in NSW and intending to be back when the COVID situation allows us to do so. We loved where we lived in Bellingen, a paradise with nature, clean air and wildlife. Pristine waters and amazing rain forests in Dorrigo which is a UNESCO World Heritage Park.
