About Sunil

Sunil Rai is an exemplary international student leader at CQUniversity, recognised for his advocacy, innovation, and commitment to community wellbeing. As a NSW Student Representative on the Student Representative Council, Sunil led the development of a paid internship program and engaged in sector benchmarking to ensure best practice of the internship program to enhance student opportunities. 

 

In Sunil’s role as Community Engagement Officer for the NSW International Student Representative Committee, he champions student voices at policy forums with key stakeholders. Sunil founded the BHALAKUSARI – Nepalese Student Society, fostering intercultural engagement through events like Dashain Festival and inspiring further cultural societies. 

His initiatives span chess tournaments, charity appeals, and wellbeing programs, including Intercultural Competency Training and drama-based peer support. Through his leadership and service, Sunil has enriched campus life and advanced inclusion, leaving a lasting impact on the CQUniversity and broader international student community.
