Creating a safer and more inclusive environment in NSW

Ellen is a student from China studying Medicine at UNSW, Sydney.

About Ellen

Jiaqi (Ellen) Jiang is a dedicated UNSW Medicine student and influential leader in health advocacy, cultural engagement, and student wellbeing. Over six years, she has contributed to more than 200 student initiatives, championing health equity and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

 

As a member of the NSW Health International Student Advisory Group, Ellen shaped public health campaigns and improved resources like the International Student Health Hub. She has enhanced clinical education as a Student Representative at St Vincent’s Hospital and driven key reforms as the UNSW–Medibank Partnership Support Officer. Serving as President of both the NSW Chinese Students and Scholars Association and the UNSW Chinese Student Association, Ellen has supported tens of thousands of students through major events, peer mentoring, and community-building programs.

 

Recognised with the 2024 UNSW Culture Student Award, Ellen’s leadership continues to create a safer, more inclusive, and supportive environment for international students across NSW.
