Why did you choose to study in this field?

Well, IT is what I do as a professional It's also related to my occupation as a mobile development talent.

Why did you decide to study in NSW?

I'm an Australian and I used to live in NSW.

Tell us about your experience studying in NSW

First of all, NSW is a great place to study, live and work for someone of an Asian heritage like me. I found myself fitting in just as easy as it can be. English is the main language of communication, but I often hear people speaking my mother tongue from a few steps of distance away. So it's a combination of multi-culture society, this reflects the uni's faculty members and students also.

What was the highlight of your experience studying in NSW?

While the cost-of-living in NSW is slightly higher than other places, you'll find NSW much more convenient and well established in terms of public transportation and infrastructure.

What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?

It gives me the confidence and proper training as well as IT knowledge to succeed in a management role.

Career goals and advice

What are you doing now in your career?

I'm an IT manager in one of the most popular finance firms in Asia.

Why did you decide to follow your chosen career path? 

Because it is what I have been doing for a decade and I am comfortable with it.

Can you share any career advice for current students or graduates?

What you have learned from school are knowledge that will benefit your career. Often fellow students are not aware or may have this notion of the learning being "non-useful". But as I find my way through my career, I am grateful to have learned such knowledge that supported me while making critical decisions.

What is the best way to develop a social life in NSW?

Join study groups, taking PT reach out to people.

Do you remain involved in NSW?

Yes, I have received my Australia citizenship and I have always wanted to go back and work in NSW.
