What has been your favourite experience in NSW?

Studying in NSW is not only about tapping into the knowledge of experts in the university, but also exploring the extraordinary places in NSW which offer unlimited jaw-dropping destinations in every corner. Beaches such as Kiama, Byron Bay, La Perouse, etc. are stunning. Every place produces a postcard-like picture, which makes me an amateur photographer. It also inspired me to create content on my youtube channel regarding some of the NSW’s tourism spots and let the world know how beautiful NSW is! One of my most favourite moments in NSW is attending the City of Sydney’s Lord Mayor morning tea. I participated in the Lord Mayor’s Welcome for International Student 2019. The photo chosen was taken by my wife, we were very honoured to be invited by the Lord Mayor as one of the finalists.

What advice do you have for other international students?

Studying at NSW is a golden opportunity. Use your time not only to study but to enjoy the vibrancy of the cities in NSW, how friendly and diverse the community is and how beautiful the scenery is. My wife and I explored different festivals in Sydney including Vivid Sydney, Bastille Day, and Ramadhan Festival. We have witnessed how vibrant, warm and diverse NSW community is. It is a real melting pot, with picturesque scenery anywhere you go. What more could you ask for! Studying in NSW is also an opportunity to expand your international network by attending international student networking events such as the ones organised by International Student Leaders and Ambassadors (ISLA) and City of Sydney. NSW is a place full of talented people and we can exchange ideas to create a better world.

What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?

Studying in New South Wales has given me the opportunity not only to strengthen my education knowledge in international relations but also to expand my network as a global citizen. It gives me the first-hand opportunity to have an internship at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF Australia), a not for profit organisation. It has been a wonderful experience. At WWF, I learned about sustainable energy directly from experts and practitioners. I learnt how to engage with the private sector and how to attract them to shift into renewable and sustainable energy. At WWF, I also conduct several types of research regarding the future of renewable energies in Australia.

Studying in NSW made a deep impression on me and made me very comfortable calling Sydney my home. Studying at the best institutions in the world and the vitality of the state gives me memories and experiences that I will always remember.
