What has been your favourite experience in NSW?

The thing that amazed me the most about Sydney is its breathtaking New Years Eve Fireworks display for 2019. It really is amazing and you can’t get anything that is anything like it from another country.

What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?

Studying in NSW has opened many doors for me. Firstly, this country has welcomed me with the prestigious International Student Scholarship at Australian Catholic University(ACU). Additionally, I was elected as a Vice-President of the International Student Society at ACU.

I also got the opportunity to participate in Interchange 2018 which is supported by Study NSW. This program thoroughly enhanced my public speaking, pitching and interpersonal skills. I also become one of the few ACU FairWork volunteers where we helped international students at my University by sharing information regarding workplace exploitation.

Additionally, I was selected as an ISLA Ambassador for the City of Sydney. As an ISLA Ambassador. I was also selected to join the International Student Airport Welcome Desk work integrated learning program run by Study NSW. Currently, I work part-time as a Admissions and Student Support Officer at one of the reputed Education Agencies.

What advice do you have for other international students?

My advice to other international students is to connect with many people as much as you possibly can. Enjoy the cultural diversity that exists across New South Wales. Talk with the local people as that will help improve your English a lot. Also travel and explore Sydney because it’s a wonderful city and most importantly has many opportunities - you just need to look around!
