My height is very short but my hobbies are playing basketball and riding horses.

What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you? 

Studying in NSW, especially in regional NSW, has opened plenty of opportunities for me. I improved my leadership skills, had an opportunity to work with reputable individuals in the community, and developed my English skills by making lots of friends. I was also nominated for an international student award at Charles Sturt University.

What has been your favourite experience in NSW? 

Coming to study at the regional campus was one of the best experiences I had, where I made a plethora of unforgettable memories. I became the Vice President of the Student Representative Committee and got to travel around NSW (luminosity at Port Macquire was the best), had a super fun video shoot with Study NSW in Wagga Wagga, and took part in the Wagga Showgirl competition. These opportunities made me connect with lots of wonderful people, and the Wagga Showgirl even got me featured in the local newspaper! I am currently working with the Junee Shire Council and Wagga Wagga City Council to organise a dance show for next year!

What advice do you have for other international students? 

The only advice I have for other international students is that don't get scared to try new things and step out of your comfort zones. I promise it will be worth it. Open yourself up and do things that you love about! Make friends from different communities so that you get to know each other's cultures and improve your English language skills. Similarly, make connections with people so that you can help each other whenever in need. I know it's common to get homesick but being involved in such activities and letting yourself out will never make you feel alone.

Please provide a short testimonial about your experience studying in NSW.

I want to share a great experience I had studying in NSW. Since I arrived in Wagga Wagga, I was never alone and there was always someone there when I needed support. I started as a general member of the Student Representative Council, and I'm now featured by Study NSW, Charles Sturt University and in the local newspaper. This is all because I welcomed each and every opportunity that came to me, and these opportunities have really helped me to grow and develop my inner self. The multicultural community and the local people here in regional NSW are very supportive and approachable. Likewise, my university life has been the best as I have been attending various events such as the orientation weeks and DJ nights. I know everyone does not feel confident enough to step out of their comfort zones and take on new opportunities. But as per my experience, I wouldn't be where I am now if I was scared and timid. I am in love with regional NSW and I’m sure these three years will be part of the best three years in my life.
