THANK YOU TO OUR AIRPORT WELCOME DESK VOLUNTEERS

Date: 07 December 2016

On 29 November StudyNSW celebrated the efforts of 80 students who completed the International Student Welcome Desk Work Integrated Learning program.

The welcome desk at Sydney Airport was set up last year to offer a friendly helping hand to new international students on their arrival. The acknowledgement ceremony was held at Parliament House where volunteers received certificates from Jonathan O’Dea, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Investment, Major Events and Tourism.

Dibya Shree Chhetry from Nepal, currently studying at Western Sydney University spoke at the event. "I think this program is a beacon of light for international students when attempting to gain some valuable work experiences in a new country. It largely helps us to gain good work experience in Australian context that makes the journey ahead easier for new students."

We are so proud of each and every student and the efforts they have made to offer a warm welcome to NSW!

We are currently seeking interested students for 2017. Further details can be found here
