Study NSW's winning ways
30 September 2021
Study NSW was announced joint-winner in the 2021 Student Support Award, alongside Kaplan Business School, at The PIEoneer Awards 2021 held on Friday 3 September 2021 in London.
The award recognises Study NSW efforts to support more than 6,500 international students through the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the $20 million NSW International Student Temporary Crisis Accommodation scheme delivered between June 2020 to June 2021.
Through this program, the NSW Government provided 6,500 NSW international students with up to 20 weeks free accommodation in collaboration with 15 NSW student accommodation and homestay providers.
"I would like to thank Study NSW for helping me," said one of the students, Marco Custodio. "I was amazed with the temporary crisis accommodation. It helped me not only financially but with my mental health as I was worried about what I would do."
Study NSW would like to thank all accommodation partners for their commitment to providing care and support to international students across NSW including 2Stay Accommodation Group, Australian Catholic University, Australian Homestay Network, Auzzie Families Homestay Care, Campus Living Villages, Dunmore Lang College, Global Experience Australia, Oz Homestay, Robert Menzies College, Study Vision, UniLodge Australia, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Wollongong and Scape.
In addition, Study NSW has delivered more than 50,000 food hampers to grateful international students across Sydney and NSW since August 2020. Through NSW Government funding these deliveries will continue to October 2021.
Study NSW recently announced a new campaign to encourage international students in NSW to receive their free COVID-19 vaccination.
