Sixers Smash

StudyNSW is proud of our partner project with Cricket NSW for Sixers Smash – a series of cricket events for international and domestic students in four locations across NSW.  For some students it was their first time to play one of Australia's national sport!  They loved the opportunity to make new friends and enjoy a day of sport together.

The competition finals were held on Sunday 26 November. Congratulations to all the teams who joined and the finalists: University of Wollongong (Gong Strikers), UNSW (Dothrakis), Macquarie University (Friends CC) and The University of Newcastle (Lambton Swingers). The winners of the day were the Gong Strikers! Professional international player Sam Billings made a guest appearance at the finals, much to the delight of the teams. The next stage of this project is for selected students to complete an internship with Cricket NSW. We wish the interns good luck and look forward to seeing the outcomes of their experience.
