On Friday 7 April, StudyNSW met a group of Indonesian Australia Award students for the second seminar in our series on NSW public sector priorities and operations.
The seminar focused on the Government’s infrastructure investment program. The students gained an insight from Infrastructure NSW representative, Andrew Glenis, on strategic planning, priorities and the project life cycle. Peter Gemell, acting Executive Director, Motorways from Roads and Maritime Services presented a practical application of planning to implementation through the WestConnex project. The group finished with an afternoon site visit to various WestConnex project sites.
The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships and fellowships funded by the Australian Government offering the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research and professional development.
There are currently 114 Australia Awards Scholarship students from Indonesia studying in NSW, including 42 from Indonesian government ministries and agencies. All are doing post-graduate study and most are mid-career professionals.
Future seminars will cover NSW government initiatives in renewable energy, and health systems.
