Australia Award students complete Seminar Series

Australia Award students from across the state have completed their Seminar Series with the NSW Government. The completion of this program was marked with an acknowledgement ceremony at NSW Parliament on Wednesday 15 August 2018. The cohort consisted on 58 participants from Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and The Philippines.

The Australia Awards Seminar Series is designed to foster stronger links between NSW Government and Australia Awards students. This interactive program provides an opportunity for Australia Awards participants to better understand the NSW public sector priorities and operations. This year, students completed a number of workshops between March and July with industry leaders and professionals including:

  • Australia Awards Seminar Launch
  • NSW Premiers Priorities
  • Renewable Energy: Investigating and incorporating into the energy space
  • NSW Trade and Investment Round table
  • Building Infrastructure in NSW
  • Social Policy: Health Systems

The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships and fellowships funded by the Australian Government offering the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research and professional development.

There are currently 3,500 Australia Awards Scholarship students studying in Australia who are completing post-graduate studies. For more information visit dfat.gov.au/people-to-people/australia-awards
