What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?

Meeting people from different backgrounds, truly immersing myself in a cross-cultural environment.

What advice do you have for other international students?

Be brave and put yourself out there. There’s no use staying in your own cultural circle while you are studying abroad. Appreciate the Aussie culture!

There are always difficulties but you just have to brave them. You may think you are alone but don't forget our family who support us throughout our journey.

What has been your favourite experience in NSW?

My favourite experience during my studies in NSW was meeting amazing individuals from very diverse backgrounds while I studied at Macquarie University. Macquarie University runs a Buddy Program which is a voluntary program which is a university sponsored and student-run to facilitate connection between domestic and international students. For me to volunteer and commit into this program was a life changing experience. It was a gateway to unlock potential that I didn’t know I had which has indirectly assisted me in securing a job offer simply by communicating and socialising with many individuals from different backgrounds! I was an introvert, but it helped me to be a better communicator and articulate ideas in a flowing manner.

Nothing feels more rewarding than assisting those who are in need and, as an international student, I personally understand exactly how that helplessness feels when you are unfamiliar with the environment that surrounds you.
