Education providers, businesses and community organisations are encouraged to apply for funding through the Study NSW Partner Projects program, to deliver projects that engage international students and support recovery of the international education sector in NSW.

Investment NSW CEO Amy Brown said co-funding of up to $165,000 per project will be available for 2022-23 and she encouraged eligible providers and organisations to apply.

“Every year, Study NSW co-funds projects delivered with industry through the Partner Projects program to support students and advance the international education sector,” Ms Brown said.

“This annual grant program enhances collaboration across the international education industry to support international students who call our state home and study with NSW education providers, and to promote NSW as a study destination.”

This year emphasis will be given to project ideas that will boost the recovery of the international education sector across NSW, enhance international student experiences, promote study in regional NSW and connect students with work-integrated learning or employment opportunities.

In 2021-22, Haymarket HQ was awarded $44,000 to deliver its virtual entrepreneurship program ‘FFWD: Ideate & Accelerate’ for international students. Program Manager Isabelle Lee said Partner Projects helped Haymarket HQ support the next generation of innovation in Australia.

“Since our partnership with Study NSW, we’ve seen many FFWD alumni achieve major success in their start-up journey, from raising investment and scaling their teams, to pitching at prestigious global start-up competitions, to even having their business acquired by large corporations,” Ms Lee said.

The Lygon Group was awarded $40,000 in 2021-22 to develop its student sentiment tracker ‘The Student Source’, which uses social media listening to analyse student sentiment shifts and makes recommendations for the NSW education sector.

Lygon Group Educational Analyst Varsha Devi Balakrishnan said Partner Projects enabled the company to advance its offering state-wide.

“The exposure to stakeholders and student communities in NSW was absolutely invaluable for us,” Ms Balakrishnan said.
