What has been your favourite experience in NSW?
My favourite experience has been working in the most sensitive department of the hotel and that is the front office department. Surely the first impressions always last and in the hotel, it is with the front office agents to ensure quality service during guest interaction for they are the first contact of the guests when they arrive at the hotel. Working in front office department has enabled me to interact with the guests firsthand with high quality and effective service from the time they check-in, during their stay and departure.

What advice do you have for other international students?
To succeed, international students should focus on their studies as well as be proactive in all endeavours of life. Social networking and active participation in university activities are very vital while pursuing a career. It is also important to always move forward steadily and focus on a higher cause to improve yourself and the people around you.
What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?
Studying in NSW has given me so many opportunities including working in one of the top hotel brands (Marriott). The experience of working in the five-star hotel has helped me improve on my customer service and also identify my soft skills such as interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and verbal and non-verbal communication skill. I have also gained a professional network in the hospitality and tourism sector which is going to help me develop my hospitality career.
Studying in NSW has taught me to expect more of myself and that I can become all that set my mind and eyes onto, inspiring those who look up to me to expect more of themselves has earned me trust and confidence amongst peers thus building a network of diverse professionals. it has also helped me recognize the burdens of society and to resist the temptation to use them as excuses. Transforming the way I think about society, and set higher standards for myself and for those around. Being mindful of success, but also to understand that everyone has a responsibility not just to themselves, but to current and future generations.
