What opportunities has studying in NSW given to you?

Study NSW has been a guardian for all the international students studying in NSW. It has organised a number of events like the NSW International Student Welcome Desk and Surf Life Saving workshops. These programmes have helped a lot in building interpersonal skills among students. They have created a platform where students from different nationalities meet, greet and work together.

What advice do you have for other international students?

As an international student, you are here in this place of freedom and opportunity to live a student life. Don't waste your time doing the things that do not suit you and your career. Make friends from around the world and learn to respect their diverse culture and traditions. It is better to explore yourself by engaging in the programmes that are run by your university or college. Be creative and do not hesitate to share your ideas.

What has been your favourite experience in NSW?

For me, volunteering at the Study NSW International Student Welcome Desk has been one of my greatest experiences so far. Being there has completely changed my life and outward perception as an international student. I have learned to value study and the importance of networking and communication. The programme gave a me a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the AIEC Conference where I reflected on the problems faced by international students living in Australia.
